Aarun's Film Poster Analysis

Film Poster Analysis (8 Posters)

1) Based on the visuals of the poster I can tell tat the poster has a lot of futuristic imagery such as flying vehicles and also the buildings have a futuristic setting to it. In addition, the tag line states 'man has made his match' which could suggest some sort of robot or cybernetic setting in the film.
2) The genre seems to be a Science Fiction film due to the futuristic feel that the poster gives. In addition, the poster does have the appropriate title as well as imagery of a science fiction film such as, containing guns as well as futuristic objects.
3) I believe that this film is based at a teenage audience due to it containing various features which most teenagers would consider in a film which are a source of action (in this case its a weapon in the poster) and also contains a futuristic theme. Overall, I think that this movie is targeted for the ages of 16-30.
1) I think that this movie is a parody of past horror movies as the poster gives off many different references from past horror films however, with a sense on comedy within it. Another reason why I think that this is a comedy film because the reviews above the poster states that the film is "absolutely hilarious".
2) Judging from the review and the nature of the characters within the posters as well as the atmosphere, the film seems to be a comedy horror/parody.
3) Due to most horror movies being of a high age rating I do think that this movie does possess similar actions that of a horror movie as well as a sense of comedy. In addition, the characters positions as well as appearance seems to be aimed for a much older audience. Overall, I think that this movie is rated 18-40.

1) I think that this movie is about a man who has survived the breakthrough of a war and has now returned to his homeland where there is nothing but the remains of the buildings that once stood. I think that this is what the  movie is about due to the poster having a serious atmosphere and shows more dull colours which the setting of a war gives. In addition, the poster has many destroyed buildings which show the destruction of  the war.
2) I think that due to the visuals of the poster it seems to be a dramatic film as it doesn't show much colour and seems more serious than other posters which is what a drama film is.
3) I think that the target audience are the elderly as they are more likely to have witnessed the outbreak of wars and have experienced it in their past and fits in to being a target audience for this type of film (much more serious type of film).

1) This film seems to be about a young boy who is afraid of discovering things that may seem odd or even dangerous and doesn't quite know why. Furthermore, it could be about a boy who discovers a hole in which lies a different world and he tries to over come his fear. I got this interpretation because the title of the film "I'm not scared" suggests that the character was scared at one point through this film however, decides to conquer his fear by discovering what lies within the hole. Moreover, the character looks puzzled as if he has seen something that isn't usual.
2)  I think that the genre of the film is that it is a thriller as the poster has a sense of horror within it due to the title of the film being "I'm not scared" suggesting that the protagonist is going to be face to face with what he fears the most. As well as, the tone that the poster gives is more than just a hole but a hole that can contain anything in it which shows a bit of suspense.
3) Due to my conclusions of this film being a thriller I would rate the age group/ target audience of this movie to be around the ages of 15-25 as thriller mostly attracts a younger age group however, the protagonist in this film seems to be a boy who looks around 16 years old which would attract members of his own age group.

1)  I think that this movie is based around a noire theme as the colour of the movie is dull but mostly grey. In addition, most noire setting are themed around a dull and grey background  featuring gins and violence. This film seems to be very violent as many of the characters have weaponry in their hands as well as the title seems to show a city with negative citizens
2)  I think that the film is based around a action-thriller genre. This is partly because of the nature of the poster being grey and containing violent objects such as guns. Moreover, the atmosphere shown in the poster in quite negative as it is raining and the background is black showing that the scene of the movie isn't quite pleasant.
3)  Due to the sheer nature and visuals of the poster being all action and violent, I would rate this movie a 18+ as it does give away a source of heavy violence which younger aged groups may not find pleasing.
1) This film seems to be about pirates who seek a special type of object containing  a precious item of an individual who will stops at nothing until he gets back what's rightfully his...the chest. This is shown as we see a pirate holding  a gin in which fires gun powder as well as we see a ship which seems to be fighting with another ship.
2) As the film stars Johnny Depp, which is an actor who is best known for his portrayal as an actor for family films, I think that this film is no different and is of a family genre.
3) I think that this film can be aimed at the ages of children as well as teenagers which would be rated at PG. However, I think that the film is aimed at the ages of 8-18 as it does contain a little bit of violence but is an all round family film and can be viewed by anyone.

1) The film seems to be about a typical man who goes clubbing and hangs out with his friends most of his time however, there is a girl who is from a tradition Asian background who's parents want her to get married and find a suitable man for her. When these two protagonists find each other they have trouble with each others background and things go wrong.
2) The film is seen to be of a romantic genre and comedy. This is because the tag line states "spectacular, romantic, funny and so sexy" shows the review of the movie being of a comedy romantic background. Furthermore, the nature of the background seems to be a love related film due to a male and female being back to back and an Asian family throwing a celebration which indicates the sign of marriage etc.
3) I think that the target audience is mainly based/targeted at the ages between 25-60 because at the age of 25 is were most of marriages begin and I chose the age 60 as it couples at a much older age still find romantic films entertained however, doesn't get much attraction to the older audience  above the age of 70.

1) The film seems to be about a woman who is seeking revenge on a man who has exploited her or her family in such as way, that her life has been turned upside down. This leads the woman going on a killing spree by killing anyone in relation to the man who wronged her and to get her revenge.
2) The film seems to be of a serious and violent nature due to the ton e that the poster gives off. The lighting as well as the colour scheme shows how violent the film is and the use of 3 main characters seem to show a source of a villain. In addition, it Overall, the genre of the film seems to be an action thriller due to the sheer tone that the poster gives off and the colour scheme used to portray the genre of the film.
3) I think based on the genre of the film and the interpretation of the poster, the film would be targeted at the ages of 16- 35. This is because 16 year-olds are more into violent films and that the love for action related films are mostly viewed by a younger audience due to the content that the film gives such as being graphical etc.
